The eschatology of Prathyaksha Raksha Daiva Sabha

The eschatology of Prathyaksha Raksha Daiva Sabha (PRDS), centers on a liberative end-times vision where the Trinity (God/Daivam, Son/Putran, Holy Spirit/Athmavu) repeatedly descends to Earth in humble, disguised forms among oppressed slaves (adimakal) in Kerala. This culminates in the fulfillment of divine promises (vāgdattham), resurrection of the suffering dead, transformation into divine beings, and the establishment of a heavenly kingdom (swargam) merging Earth and heaven in a New Jerusalem. Satan and death are absent, replaced by praise choirs and eternal reign.

Key Eschatological Elements

Trinity's Descents : God, Son, and Spirit arrive humbly (as slaves/mortals, changing forms/vesham maari) without prophets/servants, granting promises, names, thrones, and heaven to slave's descendants.

Resurrection & Transformation: Victims of slavery, drowning, violence, orphanhood, etc., resurrect and join a heavenly feast (swarga panthiyathil). Biblical figures (Adam, Eve, Moses, Hagar, David, Solomon, Jesus' mother, Joseph, disciples, Martha, Mary) return in new garments to the New Jerusalem. Faithful receive heavenly seals, undergo form-change (rūpāntaram), become god-like (daivangal), and reign eternally. 

Heavenly Kingdom on Earth: Heaven gifted as present reality; descendants transformed by heavenly order (swarga vyavastha) reign. Earthly and heavenly rulers unite; fourteen worlds governed from a reborn Earth (punarjanmam). Final generation (antyatalamūra) awaits Trinity's return with fulfilled promises.

Absence of Evil & Eternal Praise: No Satan or death (kālan); God arrives with praise choir (vāzhcha sangham). Unified reign with angels (devakal), seraphim (srafakal), and transformed people.

Theology of PRDS portrays eschatology as cyclical and imminent, emphasizing immediate liberation for Dalits/slaves through divine solidarity, rather than distant apocalypse. Songs urge remembrance of these events as ongoing reality.

'പ്രത്യക്ഷ രക്ഷാ ദൈവസഭ'യുടെ സ്ഥാപക നേതാക്കളിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്നു ഞാലിയാകുഴി സൈമൺ യോഹന്നാൻ. പൊയ്കയിൽ യോഹന്നാനോടൊപ്പം അദ്ദേഹം 'പ്രത്യക്ഷ രക്ഷാ ദൈവസഭ'യുടെ വളർച്ചയ്ക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നൽകി. ചേരമ സമുദായത്തിലാണ് അദ്ദേഹം ജനിച്ചത്. 'ആശാൻ' എന്നും 'ഞാലിയാകുഴി അപ്പച്ചൻ' എന്നും അദ്ദേഹം അറിയപ്പെട്ടു. പൊയ്കയിൽ യോഹന്നാന്റെ വിയോഗത്തിനു ശേഷം ഞാലിയാകുഴി സൈമൺ യോഹന്നാൻ 'പ്രത്യക്ഷ രക്ഷാ ദൈവസഭ'യുടെ പ്രസിഡൻ്റായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. എങ്കിലും  അദ്ദേഹവും പൊയ്കയിൽ യോഹന്നാന്റെ പത്‌നി വി. ജാനമ്മയും തമ്മിൽ  സഭാധികാരത്തിന്റെയും വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെയും പേരിൽ തർക്കം ഉടലെടുത്തു. ഇതേ തുടർന്ന്  സഭ 1940 കളുടെ അവസാനങ്ങളിൽ സൈമൺ യോഹന്നാന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലും വി. ജാനമ്മയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലും രണ്ടായി പിരിഞ്ഞു. ജാനമ്മയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ ഒരു സംഘം തങ്ങൾ ഹിന്ദുക്കളാണെന്ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.  എന്നാൽ  ഞാലിയാകുഴി ആശാന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള മറ്റേ സംഘം പഴയ രീതിയിൽ തന്നെ തുടർന്നു. അവർ പി ആർ ഡി എസ് ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ വിഭാഗമായി സ്വയം വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന് ഇരു വിഭാഗങ്ങളും വർഷങ്ങളോളം നിയമയുദ്ധത്തിൽ ഏർപ്പെടുകയുണ്ടായി. സി എം എസ്‌ സ്കൂളിലെ അദ...
