Prathyaksha Raksha Daiva Sabha Revivalism

PRDS Revivalism represents a movement dedicated to preserving and propagating the authentic, unaltered spiritual doctrines established by the visionary leader Shri. Poikayil Yohannan, founder of the Prathyaksha Raksha Daiva Sabha. This movement stands in firm opposition to all theological deviations and modern reinterpretations that have emerged within various PRDS factions over time - distortions which fundamentally misrepresent the founder's original teachings and revolutionary vision. At its core, PRDS Revivalism examines Shri. Poikayil Yohannan's legacy through a historical lens, advocating for an accurate, unembellished account of his life and spiritual mission. The movement places paramount importance on maintaining the precise forms of worship, devotional songs, and sacred rituals exactly as they were practiced during Yohannan's lifetime. Any modification or modernization of these traditions is seen as dangerously diluting the faith's true essence and systematica...

The origin of Sree Kumaragurudevan Cult (Janamma PRDS)

Introduction The turbulent period of theological division within the Prathyaksha Raksha Daiva Sabha (PRDS) remains one of the least documented chapters in Kerala's socio-religious history. Historians have largely sidestepped this controversial era, with many deliberately omitting its complexities due to contemporary political sensitivities. However, scholars like Dalit Bandhu NK Jose and Dr. Sanal Mohan have courageously brought academic attention to this neglected historical phase, particularly focusing on the emergence of 'Kumaragurudevan worship' within the PRDS fold. In 1939 Founder of Prathyaksha Raksha Daiva Sabha Shri. Poikayil Yohannan passed away. In a ceremony attended by thousands of grieving followers, Simon Yohannan conducted Poikayil Yohannan's funeral rites according to Christian traditions.  Following the death of PRDS founder Poikayil Yohannan in 1939, the Sabha witnessed its first major leadership crisis. Njaliyakuzhi Simon Yohannan co founder of PRDS,...

Divine intervention of Holy Trinity

The Prathyaksha Raksha Daiva Sabha adheres to a profound Trinitarian doctrine, wherein the sacred incarnation of the divine triad among Kerala's oppressed slave castes forms the bedrock of their theological framework. This belief system holds that the Holy Trinity—comprising God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit—manifested themselves in humble, disguised forms amidst these marginalized communities with a singular redemptive purpose: to freely offer salvation, secure their promised heavenly inheritance, and establish their rightful place upon celestial thrones where they would reign eternally alongside the triune Godhead.  This divine intervention was not an isolated historical event, but rather the culmination of God's persistent engagement with humanity throughout biblical history. It was this same Almighty who pronounced judgment upon Adam and Eve in Eden's garden, who established a covenant with Noah following the deluge, who revealed His glory to Moses up...

Importance of Prathyaksha Raksha Daiva Sabha

The Prathyaksha Raksha Daiva Sabha, commonly abbreviated as PRDS, emerged as a profoundly significant socio-religious movement that championed the principles of self-governance and spiritual autonomy for marginalized communities, particularly those belonging to the lower castes. At its core, this reformist organization sought to dismantle the oppressive hierarchies entrenched within traditional religious structures by advocating for a radical reimagining of theological participation.  One of its most revolutionary aspects was granting access to sacred rituals and theological engagement to individuals who had been systematically excluded from such practices due to the rigid caste system. Where previously these spiritual rites were forbidden to lower castes, PRDS boldly established a theological framework where all members—regardless of social standing—could partake equally in worship and religious ceremonies.  This vision extended beyond mere ritual inclusion; it manifested in ...
